Ramsgate

A nice stretch of beach combined with a warm lagoon makes this Blue Flag beach a holiday favourite with families, especially during the school holidays

Marina Beach

Located between San Lameer and Southbroom, Marina Beach is considered the jewel in the Hibiscus Coast crown. Together with the Trafalgar Marine Reserve, this Blue Flag beach forms a quiet haven on an otherwise busy coastline.

Hibberdene

The Main Beach in Hibberdene arches in a long, slow curve and is situated next to a river estuary popular for watersports and paddling. A recognised Blue Flag Beach.

Durban's Beaches

South Beach, North Beach and Blue Lagoon (formerly Addington) are all popular, accessible beaches. Favourite hangout spots for local surfers and swimmers, these long stretches of beach epitomise the spirit of Durban

Main Beach, Umhlanga Rocks

Only 10 minutes outside Durban, Umhlanga offers up an upmarket stretch of beach known for its high-rise hotels, holidaymakers, fishermen, swimmers and surfers.

Cape Vidal, north of St Lucia

Accessed by permit holders via St. Lucia (available on a first come first serve basis from the local Parks Board) Cape Vidal offers an endless stretch of pristine beach; popular for snorkelling, swimming and fishing.

Mapelane, via KwaMbonambi

A true gem, it is remote, beautiful and lies at the end of a journey through an amazing coastal dune forest where Tarzan would feel right at home.

Umdloti Beach

About 15 minutes out of Durban this village is a popular holiday spot with a protected beach and pleasing rock pools. Laid back and relaxed, Umdloti is great for families.

Sodwana Bay Beach

With rock pools to one side and a sweeping bay to the other, this is the preferred destination of deep-sea fishermen, scuba divers, snorkel fans and swimmers.
