Durban Tourism Information Desk

Durban’s EThekwini Municipality’s Tourism has launched nine mobile tourism information kiosks to assist the influx of tourists during the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup and beyond. Placed strategically for easy access in and around the City to assist tourists with information.

The nine mobile kiosks are located in the suburbs at Umhlanga, Durban North, Galleria Shopping Centre, the Transport Hub at the Workshop, Florida Road, Davenport Centre, Durban Bus Station and two at the FIFA Fan Park.

Equipped with internet and mobile communication facilities to connect them to the Nerve Centre at the Joint Operations Centre where the JOC serve as the central information headquarters as well as the base for Police, and emergency services.

Manned by multilingual information officers, the kiosks will assist with directions, suggest places of interest and help with translations where necessary.

Other information such as public transport routes, places of interests, personal safety and accommodation will also be available here.
